This painting was the result of prayers for someone going through significant struggles and pain. We can find ourselves drowning, being dragged down by our past, fears, failures, sin, etc. Though it may feel hopeless, God’s life preserver is always available. He longs and is ready to rescue us. Could it be that the things we refuse to let go of are actually what drag us down and out of reach of salvation? What chains are you clinging to? God is ready to rescue; you just need to let go!

Take some time to pray for those in your life who are downing, whether yourself or others. Ask God to give them the strength and clarity to let go of whatever it is they’re holding onto. Maybe even take a few minutes to list out what you are struggling to let go of.
